Baltinglass Senior Championship 1982

Baltinglass used their greater experience to claim their 11th title when the defeated Tinahely 1-9 to 0-7. Tinahely jumped into an early 0-3 to 0-1 lead but by half time Baltinglass lead 0-5 to 0-3 after playing with wind advantage. The crucial score of the game came 11 minutes into the second half when Matt Owens scored the only goal of the game. Although Tinahely got within three points of Baltinglass with 10 minutes they could not breach the defence for that all-important goal and Baltinglass held on for a five-point victory.
