Baltinglass Senior Championship 1972

An early Tony Norton goal established Baltinglass on the road to victory. Dunlavin never led, disappointed their followers and could not match the greater footballing ability of the champions. Once again Peter Burke did well from frees and play scoring six points and all the other Baltinglass players shone brightly with fine displays. Lar Norton was captain and on this occasion there was a cup for Jim Byrne to present. Mick O'Brien was then team trainer. Baltinglass deservedly beat Dunlavin 1-9 to 0-6 in 1972 with this team:

Jim Whelan, Anthony Leigh, Ken Browne, Joe Doherty, Matt Finn, Tom Scott, Frank Byrne, Seamus Kelly, Seamus Cunningham, Peter Burke, Tony Norton, Willie Wall, John Wall, Andrew Buchanan, Larry Norton.

Subs Nicholas Curry, John Cullen, Brendan Dooley, Dan Campion, John Smullen, Pat Sleator and Paddy Canavan.
