Baltinglass Senior Championship 1966

In complete control most of the time Baltinglass defeated a disappointing St. Patricks in '66. It was the creme-de-la-creme, a team of varied abilities and strengths. Tony Norton shot an early goal, as the West team progressed to outclass their opponents. Captain Tony Norton and Noel Scott dominated midfield. The forwards were in devastating form. Willie Wall, Andrew Buchanan, Bobby Nolan, supplied abundant skills. Johnny Kenny brought forth-early cheers with three quick points while Lar Norton and Tommy Leigh supplied finishing touches. Ken Browne commanded at fullback, John Connell and Joe Doherty upheld their corners, Tom Scott was sound and Charlie Connell and Pat Rogers did wonderful work at wingback. Apart from Tony Norton, brother Larry and Bobby Nolan scored the first half goals. Baltinglass led 3-3 to 0-4 at half time. The final outcome was 3-7 to 1-5, Willie Wall (2), Buchanan and Tony Norton getting the points.
