2007
2007 was a very successful year for Balto Junior C panel. From early April right through the summer this squad of players went right through Division 4 of the league unbeaten and duly won this league. This was a great achievement but better was to come -
First up in the championship was Lacken and our lads ran out easy winners in this game - Lacken were poor however.
Next up was Tinahely and we knew this would be tougher. After a great battle our lads went on to win by 4 points to qualify for the semi final. Valleymount were the opposition and this game proved to be the toughest in the championship. The weather was poor and our lads struggled for most of the game. However when Valleymount went into the lead in the second half with the wind advantage, we showed good character to go on and win by 1 point.
The final was against Aughrim. The first half was a tight affair and scores were hard to come by. Kevin O'Brien made his first start in the year and he was doing well. In the second half we got on top and a goal from Paddy Farrell set us up for victory. Final score: Balto 1 - 10, Aughrim 0 - 06.
