Thirteen man Baltinglass had to call on all their experience, character and skill to win there sixth title in a row and there 18 title over all. Reduced to thirteen men after 21 minutes, Kevin O'Brien who had not started the game was immediately introduced and scored a great point to leave the half time score 0-6 to 0-2 in favour of Baltinglass. However must people in Aughrum felt this would not be enough of a lead as Baltinglass had to face a very strong wind in the second half. However Baltinglass produced an outstanding second half performance and the crucial score coming in the 40 th minute when Kevin O'Brien crashed a ball to the An Tocher net for the only goal of the game.
